Other Writing

Outside of television, I have a wealth of writing experience across several different subjects, websites and formats. As a student at the University of Tennessee, I was able to cover a variety of university sports as an official media member writing for TNJN.com. I also spent time as an editor there, pitching and assigning stories to other writers and editing their work for grammar, content and style guidelines. Outside of college, I spent several years as a freelance writer primarily focused on the NBA. I wrote most consistently about the Charlotte Hornets and other NBA teams for HashtagBasketball.com, and also about entrepreneurship and small business resources across the United States for FundingSage.com.

Writing about such varied topics -- which I continued during my career as a writer and producer for TV -- has helped me develop a talent for researching unfamiliar topics and for writing in different voices to match the target audience for a particular outlet. I've written news reports, sports recaps, opinion pieces, statistical analyses and plenty more.
