Making Modern with Brooke & Brice

Magnolia Network's twist on the traditional house flipping formula, Making Modern stars general contractor Brooke and her husband and designer Brice as they balance their growing renovation business with their own separate careers.

I performed several roles on Making Modern, beginning with assisting with media management: backing up footage, syncing audio/video and preparing footage multi-groups in Avid Media Composer. I then marked up the footage and assembled a-cuts for editors, and acted as a go-between for the showrunner and the post-production team. I gave notes throughout the edit process and wrote voiceover segments for the hosts to help tell the intended story. While many flipping shows just have single-episode storylines, Making Modern also had a season-long storyline following the hosts' growing renovation business, so there were more moving pieces to keep track of in terms of story than a lot of shows like this. I was also responsible for tracking trade-out shots to ensure we were meeting agreements for showing logos in return for materials or services during the home renovation.​
